3 Bright Color Palettes for Your Home

Spring is back in the Midwest!  Discussions around our office this time of year often lead to a readiness to spruce up our wardrobes with bright and fun colors.  It can be just as exciting to brighten up your home (and very needed this time of year!).

Today I wanted to show you some ways to use bold and bright colors effectively in your home with some inspiring images and bright color palettes.

Bright Color Palette - Plum & Teal Living Room - Interiors by The Sewing Room

Our first Bright Color Palette shown two ways includes a rich punchy plum, terrific turquoise and sassy green on a neutral background.  I love the impact of the bright seating in both of the images, and the rug and bedspread pull together all of these bright colors.  You could achieve the same effect with a painting, adding accessories, or even an arrangement of fresh cut flowers, if you’re wanting to test out the palette without long-term commitment!

Aren’t the ottomans at the end of the bed a great addition?!

This bright living room has an abundance of light pouring through the windows and reflected on all the bright white surfaces.  Even the artwork is light and subtle.  But by adding some colorful accent pillows and accessories, the beige sofa and room really come to life.  This room just screams Spring!

In a similar bright color palette, the yellow patterned wallcovering and the comforter on this bed in a modern springy floral pattern bring lots of great color to an otherwise neutral bedroom.  If I woke up in such a bright and colorful room everyday, it would definitely start my day off on a happy note!

Our third bright color palette includes some very bright colors!  This living space looks like it could be a sunporch on a tropical island.  With a glass of iced tea and a good book I could sit and enjoy the warm breezes and bright colors for hours.

In our final image, these fun tropical colors are brought into an open kitchen and dining area with a modernized traditional style.  Classic cabinetry and sleek white counters provide the perfect background for pops of bright teal, blue and oranges.  With the perfect amount of pattern mixing, this fun twist with classic style would be a dream to live in.

How do you like to use bright colors in your home?  Are you brave enough for a bold and bright sofa?  Do you play with brightly patterned window coverings or pillows?  Or do you prefer to change it up with accessories and flowers to brighten up for the season?
